Never did it, never will (easy for me to say; I don't have a business). To me it's one of the things that is wrong with the world.

Yes chrome is the hardest metal. I use BJS bars. I also have a light one, 6.7 OZ maybe. You can too, just ask.

I tried one of the plugs (9v) in my daisy chain that I use for all the other effects and it worked just fine, I did not notice any difference.

Yes Bruce that's right you are there-you could probably pick it up (not the biggest state). I think it's just one guy, Tim, and he'll make it to your specs. Mine were well built, and well shipped, and I think reasonable when unfinished so I could Tolex them how I wanted. OK cool.

Chrome is much harder (according to the internet). And I love my BJS bars, I'll never use anything other. That's all I know!

This topic is dear to me, as I suck as well. What about the left hand? When sliding a harmonic I always pick up sounds from other strings. Do you inherently pick up the bar and isolate the string every time? This is hard for me. Any pointers from folks who are good at this?

The NYXL Franklin set shows that it is .015 for string 4. It goes up a whole step no problem. I use those. I think in general you go as big as you can unless it breaks?

And, as you get more comfortable with the song, you are a compliment to the melody and rhythm. Don't play so much on the melody and on the beat, but answer them.
