I like the idea of the PU away from the bridge. Some are very twangy because of that. My issue with them toward the fingerboard is, I tend to press the strings down onto the top of the PU when laying up the neck. If I could solve that problem without lowering the PU so low it dosen't work well, man ...

Johnny King
I bought my prized Rittenberry from Johnny.
I cant express enough how good he is to deal with. I think a truck could have ran over it and not left a mark. I would buy from him again in an instant.

Sold!! Goodrich Matchbox 7A and DF2 pouch (price lowered)
I have a very clean Goodrich 7A buffer, with a DF2 pouch. This unit works as it should, no issues. I would like $200.00 shipped anywhere CONUS. I will accept Paypal friends and family, Venmo is fine too. Thanks for looking! https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/17004_goodrich_7A_1.jpg [/img]

bb and 6a
I have both buffers. I find the black box has way more tonal enhancement when used with a solid state amp, any solid state amp. It adds a tube, which to my ear and countless others, warms the amp up and adds that tube warmth the other buffers just dont. Since I get the black box my 6A has not came o...

BB and Bloomer
I dont have a quilter, however, I do use solid state amps. I run a BB first as its meant to be used, into a wet reverb, then into a Bloomer. It sounds great on every amp I have ran it through. I have no doubt you will havr great results on your Quilter too.

I second turning it to four or more. It comes to life there. I also like a black box and wet reverb. I also really like the baby bloomer with this amp!Ken Metcalf wrote:Turn the volume up to at least 4 and dial back the power attenuator to the volume level desired. It gets a nice growl when turned up.

TM twin
I use a wet reverb pedal, and a baby bloomer in front of mine. I also like a black box right after the pickup. I am very satisfied with my tone, and get lots of compliments. Usually have it set at 12 watts and run the volume sat around 4. These amps come to life around 4 on the volume. There are so ...

Brad is right about rugged!! I have had a couple accidents involving a BB. Dropped it out of a van recently right on the concrete, and kept running. I had it fall in a snow bank for a couple days before I found it, it kept running. I have got where I am used to the warmth it provides and dont ever p...

I love the Black Box, and never play without it. I have 2 so I have one in practice space as well as the one I gig with. Once you hear the difference, its a game changer. I play mainly solid state amps, and it definably adds some tube warmth to the tone. The resale on these is pretty good, so if you...
