Just for some more time frame reference, I have a round front Pro ll with the nylon tuners and only a few two hole raises that was completed 6/13/74 and a friend has a square front Pro ll Custom with the same changer situation that was completed in early July 74. Good save on that Pro lll Gary!

I have a 67 Princeton with 12" Eminence Legend on a new baffle (the original is in storage). The 12 made a big difference for steel. I've used on occasion with a full band (keys, acoustic guitar, bass and drums.. a James Taylor tribute thing). It works out for double duty with guitar/steel as l...

I use a 74 Super Reverb with a 4 ohm Weber California 15". I'm usually playing guitar too, so that gets the Vibrato channel and the steel goes into a Boss RV-3 with the other channel. Volume is typically set around 4 and it sounds great, I think. Not sure what I am missing with the 4ohm speaker...

My '74 Sho-Bud Pro ll would be very stable if I ever get around to changing the worn nylon nuts. My Super Pro era Pro l is stable as the day is long.

Great performance of Together Again. PF playing through a silver panel Twin Reverb. Best tone I have heard in recent memory. Audience reaction to different parts of Paul's solo.. not something you expect to see on TV, but given the playing, not surprising! Awesome!

Anyone making Replacement Super Pro Fingers?

I have an early 80s Pro I that looks great, stays in tune great and sounds pretty good. I say pretty good because overall I like the tone, but it is lacking sustain above the 12th fret. Is anyone making pinned aluminum fingers to retrofit the slotted, pot metal ones? Would that even do anything for ...

3 for me as well. There are plenty variations of the compensated 3 barrels as well. Also, there way I see it, all of the classic records I like were made with those "out of tune" teles.

Thanks Dave. The whole thing was my brother Edwin's idea/production. I was playing my other brother's '62 ES-345 through an early 60s Vibrosonic. Funny, I finally realized what the Varitone control is actually for... playing stuff like this! Who knew?

It was a great deal. My kid bought it for $600 a couple years ago but it needed a little bit of sorting out. So the new owner got a good deal on a great amp that was ready to go.. but those deals are out there. Cool picture..

I think Bob is pretty much on target. My kid just sold a very clean sept 67 drip edge Super Reverb, original CTS speakers in an Anvil case. Had it for sale in different places for a looonng time at 12 or 1300. Finally let the whole thing fly for around 900ish on ebay. The big Fenders just don't seem...

Barry, the guitar is an L-5CT, but a custom version with a round hole instead of f holes. It is most likely X braced as opposed to tone bars. I am pretty sure that of the regular CT's, some were X braced and some had bars. They are commonly referred to as the "George Gobel" through his ass...

I have used ReRanch stuff. I like it.. it's great for someone not set up with a whole spay rig, etc. Some metallics are trickier to do. The little flakes can lie flat if it goes on too wet leaving it blotchy. Skip, that blue one would be Lake Placid Blue.. Pelham is a more silvery looking Gibson col...

I vote clean it, unless it's peeling and flaking a lot. A played looking original is way cooler than a shiny refinish IMHO... even if it's refinished by the original guy with the original formula lacquer. Maybe some proper fretboards if they are available.
