And thanks for the encouragement from the folks in the thread. It means a lot to me. I’ve been reading and learning as much as I can from this forum. It’s amazing how much information is shared here. The instrument does sound good. Just not when I play it. I look forward to the next project.

The pink stuff was some sort of foam pad that was placed underneath the pickups. Probably to add resistance to the screws holding the pickups in place and perhaps to provide some damping as well. Hard to tell. No springs on the hold-down screws so I’m guessing it was to provide leveling of the pic...

Thanks for the suggestion. A lot of the parts were toast and I had to hand fabricate some of the pulls and tap collars and die new rods. One big problem I had was finding shaft collars small enough to fit between the fingers. I had to put extensions on them so that they wouldn’t get in the way of ...

1970 Miller Project

Bought this 1970 pull-release Miller as a project to keep the cranium lubricated. Came with 7 pedals but clearly had 8 at one time. Many metal parts seized. Covered with several layers of grit and what look like soot from a fire. Took a bit of time but it’s working with a bit of a goofy copedent f...

I would like to request to be next in the cue to purchase the entire unit should Steven decide not to buy. It looks like a fun and attractive project. Steve good luck in the new job. Agree that would be a better situation for the seller and a buyer who wants to rebuild to original spec. However, if someone buys and wants to rebuild with modern guts I'm in for the old stuff.

Herb, I PM'd you. I'm nearing completion of a similar Miller D-10 dated from 1970. It came to me with 7 pedals but clearly was outfitted with 8 at one time. I would purchase the undercarriage parts and pedals if you would consider that as a separate sale.
