Solving Fretboard Problem
Hey Luke, If this is a joke you and Tom Bradshaw cooked up(thanks David Donn!), you made your point! If it’s for real then carefully read JD’s explanation on how simple it is to change key up or down on PSG without requiring a new fretboard. A practice exercise I do is to play a rhythm track in Key ...

Hey Johnnie,
A beautiful guitar and an arm pad that just puts the guitar over the top! The color match on the leather and the lettering is perfect! Well done!

Hey Brendan,
The wiring schematic I use now is based on an old SGF post that I updated with a junction block and switch for dual coils. Works very well and easier to change out the pickup if you want.

Guitar legs
Bruce, I read a comment on SGF one night attributed to Buddy Emmons. Words to the effect of a good guitar has legs that vibrate when you grab one of them. When I redo a guitar I have always used that as one of my criteria. So, legs made of steel, aluminum, wood, carbon fiber, etc; do they vibrate wh...

Ernie Tavares PSG
Cody, To me Ernie and his brother Freddie were the brains in Leo Fender’s foray into PSG. You can see Fender design elements in this guitar. Not surprising though that the guitar is not in a museum or part of a Fender innovations collection. It seems like the Tavares brothers got lost in history as ...

James Burton PSG and Ricky Nelson
Hey Andy,
Last music I had heard of Ricky’s was “Garden Party” with Tom Brumley on
PSG. It wasn’t until I read about the crash did I learn that Tom Brumley was not onboard. I didn’t know he had already left the band and headed home.

Burton PSG with Ricky Nelson
Hey Andy, To clarify my point on “most of the band”, my thought was concerning Tom Brumley not being on board. I had the good fortune of talking with Tom, Maurice Anderson and Herb Remington when my family and I had the table next to them for breakfast at Scotty’s PSG Convention Hotel in 1981. I was...

James Burton PSG with young Ricky Nelson
Hey Andy,
Ricky Nelson looks young enough to still be doing the TV show with his family. I think I have YouTube of James Burton doing songs with Ralph Mooney. A sad day when Ricky and most of the band died.

Hey Paul, Before you give up on the Fender changer. I had an acquaintance that was having problems with his Fender 800 changer. His guitar had also been dropped and it turns out it put a slight bend(only visible with a straight edge) in the knife edge at the front of the slot in the plate that’s in ...

Franken Fender
Donnie Hinson’s statement on the lack of a hard stop for the pedal on Fender PSG would be better stated as “an adjustable hard stop”. Fender bellcrank assemblies that transfer motion from the downward pull of pedal to the horizontal pull of the cable have a stop included for over travel in either di...

Mooney’s Tuning
Hey Jim, I have a Fender 400-a single neck version of the 1000. It’s tuned to the bottom 8 of E9th with the G# to A raise on string#1. What I had to do to make it work is a long story better told off line! People will give you all kinds of solutions for G# to A on string#1, and I tried them all when...

Shipping Costs
Howdy, I use UPS to ship my guitars and I have UPS pick up the packaged guitar from my house. Like has already been said the price has gone down significantly over using the UPS stores. It costs me $10-12 to have them pick up the guitar and around $145-$160 to ship to Georgia, Arizona, or California...
