I'm fairly new to pedal steel(about three years)and I play a Stage One with a passive volume pedal. I thought my tone was great until I got a Freeloader, now I wouldn't think of playing without it. To my ear, it provides better clarity and you have the ability to tamp down some of the high end if de...

I made a small passive box that I put on my pedalboard, it could just as easily be mounted to a leg of my steel(I'm not home or I'd take a picture) It's just a one knob tone control, wired similar to a Telecaster tone control

Saddle fingerpicks (please close)

Edit: Just saw in New Products that they're still available

It appears these are no longer available. If anyone has a pair laying around, please let me know. Thanks

Saddle fingerpicks availability?

Does anyone know if these are still available? It looks like the website is down. I also sent an email to Richard McVicker but haven't heard anything back. Thanks

I have a TRM pine cabinet that I really like, he makes them in a variety of configurations. Without tolex, it does get banged up pretty easily though

I thought I read that it wasn't a standard pickup size, maybe I'm wrong. I'm playing through a Quilter Aviator head into a Telonics 12" speaker. I also have a Sarno Freeloader buffer. The rig is very Blackface sounding, scooped mids. I can boost the mids, but there's more of a nasally quality r...

Stage 1 pickup upgrade ?

I'm wondering what my options may be to change the pickup in my Stage 1. I'm finding my tone a little thin and lacking a certain midrange warmth that I can't dial in with EQ. I'd also like something with a bit of a smoother top end. Thanks

Speaker to compliment Telonics Neo

I'm running my pedal steel and guitar through a Aviator head and a Telonics Neo 12". I love how everything sounds clean but the overdriven tones are a bit lacking for me. I was thinking about getting another cab with a 12" speaker. I may run it along with the Telonics or A/B it depending o...

I have a Quilter Aviator which I use for guitar and steel. There are two channels, I run the first for guitar and the second steel. The first channel is pretty basic, just volume and a single EQ knob which runs from mid-scooped to flat to mid hump. The second channel has a TMB EQ along with a volume...

I really like my Timmy pedal. I found that there was considerable overlap with the Earth Drive but the Timmy was a little more transparent and had more flexible tone controls. Pretty much the same price as the ED though edit: As I think about it, I can't say that the Timmy has more gain on tap, I us...

Beginner volume pedal question

I apologize in advance as I assume this topic has been beaten to death but here it goes. I'm currently using a Stage One volume pedal but I'm still pretty jerky with my mechanics. I sat in with a band last night, kind of an informal audition, and there were a few times where I really struggled with ...
