I believe it is rated at 33 watts and is fairly clean as it was designed for Bass. Cranked up it will approach the Rolling Stones type vibe. I have just played it clean with guitar and steel. It is a very good amp for steel guitar. Ken, you are correct. The old Bassman was very much sought after by...

Ken,
this is a 50 watt I assume from the two output tubes?
Beautiful amp, by the way! And the Bassman is the iconic circuit that paved the way for the eventual creation of the iconic Marshalls and every other “loud a@@ rock and roll” amplifier made.

Great amp!! That’s actually an Eminence Fender branded 15” speaker and this amp is fabulous for regular acoustic and electric guitar. Whoever snags this the pots just fyi are totally enclosed and soldered directly to the board so Deoxit doesn’t work. Pots are easily replaced if you can solder I've ...

Re: Speaker Grill Covering

Where can I find the same speaker grill material for my session 500. It doesn't feel like cloth, more like plastic. Any help would be appreciated https://www.ebay.com/itm/325632906879?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=sqVNt6JWTMm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=894gWNGQTD6&...

profex 2 w/ card & rack

Got a Profex 2 w/ batteryless mod, all the Newman stuff, lots of custom Gary Hoague and Jim Lindsey settings, a few Junior Knight presets, and actual Peaveys cache card in three space enclosure I believe Tommy Huff built. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/14726_EF5C36A924AD46149AE82C0DEA32...

Sounds like the cathode bypass capacitor ( or cathode resistor) on that stage blew up, left a carbon trace, and the new tube is seeing that carbon trace as a clear path to ground, I.e., that tube isn’t getting control voltage. If you don’t service your tube amp regularly it’s somewhat like driving ...

Steelers Choice seat w/ backrest

Steeler’s Choice seat. Good condition. Has one small teeny hole in upper corner of back rest. Almost no wear at all in cushioning. Comes with custom heavy ballistic nylon slip cover with velcro strap. Asking $200 plus shipping but I will be in Dallas for the show if anyone wants to pick it up there....

Haven't bought anything Peavey since before they turned "To The Dark Side" and I'm happy with that. There's enough American Peavey kit on the used market to keep users well supplied. Dave, sadly most all of the “big” amp and instrument manufacturers, like so many American manufacturers of...

Harold, You should be hearing from Peavey in the next day or so. Seems there was a glitch in their "direct" ordering system. If you don't hear anything by the end of the week, please let me know. Response from Peavey: John Fields 10:05 AM (35 minutes ago) to me Amber is getting it squared...

Re: Microphonic pickup

I recently installed a Trutone pickup I bought several years ago but never used. It has good sound but I noticed it is microphonic. Is this normal with the Trutone? I have never used one so I do not have experience with them. the active EMG JH’s I am getting for my Les Paul are epoxy potted. Microp...

I remain unconvinced that there's a significant enough difference in the sound of tubes vs. solid state when used for pedal steel. There's a clear advantage for guitar, where you really need that overdrive-sustain. But for steel, I can't see it (or rather "hear it" in a band situation). I...
