I use a cheap Danelectro PB&J delay. It has a lot of duck tape on it, but it keeps ticking! It also has a suprisingly warm tone. I paid about $20 for it new 6 or 7 years ago.

I play through a two channel Peavey VTX Classic Twin. I set one channel at comp volume and the other at solo volume and place the foot switch between my ABC and volume pedals...it works well for me. Also, I run an MXR 10 band EQ and position it next to my seat. As the band gets louder, I use the vol...

I just bought a used Line 6 M5 multi effects pedal. It has 100 effects, though I only use a few. They are: phaser, leslie, chrome (dobro sound), several different 'verbs and delays, compressor, and overdrive. I use it judiciously of course, but every sound one could ever need is in one pedal. I also...

I agree with Doug. I've listened to it dozens of times and I never seem to tire of it.

Thanks for chiming in Tommy. I was the first to review it on Amazon under my wife's account Julie H. I would post it here if I could figure out how to copy and paste on this new tablet (still learning) ha ha!

Again, thanks to all. I've been working several of the suggestions. Now it's just a matter of time...

Intonation Woes - HELP!

Hi fellow steelers! I need someone to help me with intonation, it's my biggest frustration at this point. I've been a pedal steel "owner" for 18 months, and have made satisfactory progress with scales, chords, grips, volume swells, etc. I'm confident enough to improvise solos (I'm a guitar...

Pedal Slide

I just found this on the TDPRI. I'm not sure if this has been posted here before, but I found it interesting. I'm not sure what to think of it yet.

Opinions?

I also play the Zum Stage One. I was in the same situation a year ago. All things considered, I went with the Stage One because I knew what I was getting. With a used "pro" model it's a crap shoot. The Stage One/Encore comes with a warranty and Doug is a great guy to deal with. I hope this...

As a guitarist, I always take the "serve the song, not yourself" approach. As a psg newbie, I'm doing the same. The song will dictate if chords, single lines, or a combination of both is best. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate it!

I used the VTX for the first time at rehearsal this week, it really cut through. I'm very happy with it as a steel amp... it's a keeper!

Thanks for the response guys! I retubed mine with a matched set of Ruby Tubes (I'm not real wild about Ruby Tubes, but they were affordable and they work for now). The originals had developed a severe rattle. Mine has 2 6L6's, I'm not sure of the particular designation, they're actually marketed a P...

Peavey Classic VXT

Hi All I'm new to the forum and to pedal steel guitar. I've been a frequent visitor here over the past year. I decided to join today as it is my birthday. I bought a Stage One in April and have fallen in love with it. Over the past few months I've used several different guitar amps (I'm a player of ...
