Krivo

The Krivo is pretty popular. https://youtu.be/7rtBuqwe--M The K&K is pretty non invasive too. I came here researching Peavey Powerslide lap/upright steels - the Krivo pick-up turns out to be exactly what I want instead. That's why I like this site - you just never know what might be around the ...

Bakersfield in Bakersfield

I was fortunate enough to have caught him in Bakersfield. Wow. The guy sitting next to us had seen something like 8 shows in a row. He was traveling around following the tour just to hear these performances. He's either a great fan or a stalker - eeeh haaaw.

Possibly because Franklin was recreating the Bakersfield sound? Franklin can do anything.

Hi Jim, Tom Whitworth here - I'm pretty sure the only way to get the audio is to be using the web page version of the document.

I see, it is more than just an app to run the audio it is integral to your publication. If I download each chapter as one of your web pages the audio will work because I am accessing through your site.

You mentioned a specific app for the audio. Is that something I can purchase or download?

Thanks Tom, I was missing something. I was thinking something would come to me as an email. I get it now, sorry about that. Downloading now. As mentioned by others here I very much appreciate your work on this publication. Extra note - I have also upgraded from the Peterson VS-II to the STROBOPLUS H...

Does it take a while for the request to go through or am I missing something? Haven't received the email with the download. I'll check again later, this sounds like something I can use.

If that thing is pumping out 440w to a 12" driver I can see why they say that amp can get loud. I bet you are right about the high end freq's. One would probably look for the amp/speaker models that would compensate for that - that is why I was hoping someone had done some experimenting already...

Thanks Jeff, I have to agree with you. I'm just looking to experiment a little. One of the selling points of the L6 Firehawk is that it supposedly does a very good job as an acoustic amp and is LOUD as well. Hard to believe - but it is heavier than our pedal steel amps - I think 60lbs + *!!? As you ...

I use a TASCAM CD-GT2 - they also make a digital version Put in a CD slow it down, speed it up, change the key push a button to start a loop , push it again to end it. and replay it endlessly at any speed and key Also has some cool effects.. Plug in to an amp or headphones.. Yes - the TASCAM works ...

Line 6 Firehawk 1500 watt amp

I know this is kind of out there but has anyone tried playing steel through the Line 6 Firehawk 1500 amp. The idea being the Firehawk has a closed cab (ported) with a 12" center speaker - for dry guitar signal - and two 5 1/2" coaxial speakers plus 1" horn for stereo imaging effects s...

If the manufacturer cannot tell you anything, why would we have that ability?

if your volume pedal has a potentiometer, it might just need one with a different taper to change the shape of the increase in volume. that would be cheaper than a new pedal...if it is a normal decent pedal otherwise. I'm no expert for sure but when I was putting an Ernie Ball vol pedal back togeth...

Thanks everyone for your input. I have no more reservations about buying or using a drummers throne. As ususal the only thing left is to make a decision. I am really leaning toward the Pork Pie because it seems to the most effective padding. I have none of my own!

I have a Tama drum throne. It has served me well for years on countless gigs, always comfortable from start to finish. Tripod double braced legs are very sturdy. Seat is well padded, but firm. Easily adjusted to the proper height for sitting behind the steel guitar. The large wing nut can be tighte...

I've been looking at the Tama, Rock n Soc and the Pork Pie. The gas cylinder looks like one more way to keep the pressure off the top of the hamstrings. I can't tell if the extra thick padding on the Pork Pie's is above and beyond my needs - I do know that even padded bar stools kill me (I guess I s...
