There's a great online conversion/downloading option at "YouTube to mp3 Conversion.org". Just bookmark it and you can grab any youtube audio file. I use it all the time with a program called Transcribe to slow down and/or change keys. Has been the best way for me to work out difficult pass...

I also play keyboards, so all my effects, A/B switch, power strip, volume pedal are on the pedal board (under my guitar). So setup is a breeze. Just "plug and play".

New MB 200 Setup

Talk about lightening your load. Went from a NV112 (over 40 lbs.) to a 12" extension speaker (22 lbs.), with the MB200 power amp and a Holy Grail reverb. Now if I could just find a way to lighten up that darned guitar and keep the quality, I would be good to go for another 100,000 miles.

Gk Mb200

Thinking about "simplifying and adding more lightness". If you have a GK MB200 (and have moved on to something bigger and better), and you are interested in selling, either PM or email me with a price. I might be interested.

6 String "Transition" Tuning

I play mostly E9 pedal steel. Just recently acquired a 6 string lap steel. My question is...what tuning would help me make the transition to the lap steel? From my somewhat limited research, I see there are many 6 string tunings to choose from. I want to try one which will allow me to go back and fo...

Thanks Jack. I guess I'll get online and fine a good deal on one of those speakers. I've got to do something before next weekend gets here. Last night (on the bandstand) was not any fun. Anybody want a good deal on a nearly new Jenson speaker?

Jenson Neo Speaker in Nashville 112

I recently mounted a new Jenson Neo 12", 4 ohm speaker into one of my NV 112 amps. The weight savings are dramatic; however, I can't seem to get it dialed in (to get the same sound as the original Blue Marvel speaker). It sounds OK in my practice room, but lacks punch and quality on the bandsta...

Since I also play (and sing the praises) of Rains guitars, I'd also like to find a tee shirt. If someone has a source for these please email me. I'd order a couple of XL's.

Thanks to Larry Petree, a forum member. He had a set of new hinges for a pack-a-seat that he wanted to sell. After I get them installed with a pad...I'm all set for many more hours of steelin'. Please close.

Backrest for Pack-A-Seat

Does anyone know of a company making backrest kits for pack-a-seats? Several years ago I bought a GFI pack-a-seat (without a backrest), and my back is now asking me for some relief. Spending the $$$ for a new seat seems excessive if there is a kit that can be installed on mine. I have tried, unsucce...

The folks that do this can tape off parts of the object. But since I was planning to re-condition the entire guitar, I stripped everything off. It did take some time to get it ready and more time to get the guitar back together and set up everything to get it ready to play. I enjoy "tinkering&q...

Scott, you can Google HydroGraphics and see how the process works. They have hundreds of patterns to choose from. Used a lot for firearms, automotive and motorcycle parts. Doubt there are any more steel guitars with this finishing process applied to them. I will work on getting a larger/more detaile...

Carpsteel - Reborn

After I bought my SD10 Rains to use as my main guitar (with the band), I started looking for a smaller, lighter, good quality, "practice" steel. I found this "basketcase", Carpsteel that someone had painted red with a spray can. I stripped the guitar down and took it to Hydrograp...

Looking for nice, used SD-10

I would consider a late model Mullen, Justice, Rains, Fessy or other quality steel with 3/5 setup. The closer to Texas the better to cut down on shipping costs.

I am currently shopping for a pro quality SD10, and considering several options. This Mullen might just fill the bill. Weight is a concern now that I am getting older. I'm in Waco and could drive up almost any day to take a look. Get back to me if this seems doable (254) 495-7571. Thanks.
