Jenson Neo Speaker in Nashville 112

Post by Wallace Pelton »

I recently mounted a new Jenson Neo 12", 4 ohm speaker into one of my NV 112 amps. The weight savings are dramatic; however, I can't seem to get it dialed in (to get the same sound as the original Blue Marvel speaker). It sounds OK in my practice room, but lacks punch and quality on the bandstand. Anyone else have a similar experience with this speaker (in this amp), and what did you do about it? I thought that this was the speaker that Ken Fox used to recommend (and sell) for the NV 112, but my ear tells me it was a big mistake. After about 20 hours of playing through the Jenson, I'm thinking I need to go back to the original Blue Marvel speaker and get a gymn membership.

The Eminence EPS 12C or Telonics 12" neo speaker is what is needed, if you want to replace the original speaker for lighter weight. Both of these are designed for Pedal Steel Guitar.

Thanks Jack. I guess I'll get online and fine a good deal on one of those speakers. I've got to do something before next weekend gets here. Last night (on the bandstand) was not any fun. Anybody want a good deal on a nearly new Jenson speaker?

Hmmm... just how good of a deal on the Jensen neo? I might have a guitar/harp amp application down the road. You can PM me if you prefer.
