Dear Miss Brenda, it goes without saying how much this pains me to hear. My deepest condolences to you. I’m so sorry. My friend Fred, always with a great story, always walking with his God, you will be missed by me, always. Teach the angels those “big chords” up in heaven now Fred. Godspeed to you, ...

Instructors in St. Louis, Mo.

Am looking for instructors/players around St. Louis area. I'm a Berklee grad with basic pedal steel knowledge and would like to become proficient on the instrument. I have just relocated from Boston and live five minutes out of St. Louis proper. I am currently playing an SD10 Emmons set up 4x5, one ...

Re: peavey

Thanks for the replies!! Yes the peavey I am interested in would be the newer model..valveking II..as I stated before more for its use in studio because of its outputs to board..I have found that tube amps usually have a warmer tone than SS amps so if a good reverb is present you can usually dial i...

I sold this amp some time ago. The issue with the reverb was crusted connections. After a thorough cleaning it was great once more.
It was much to big and heavy for me these days. I went with a pair of Bose S1pro speakers. Times they are a changin’

Reverb Humming Session 400

Sonny boy was in town this passed weekend and likes to play the steel when he comes home. He says "what's up with the reverb on this amp dad?" Hmmm, haven't heard that before. When turning the reverb knob from off to full on this 1977 Session 400 it begins to hum and the more you turn the ...

Doug,
I really like the look that the chicken head knobs give to the amp head. I've never cared for the circular ones with the decal stuck on them that my session 400 has. Are those knobs from Peavey or are they a Fender item?

Take a look a Roland's Jazz Chorus40 John. L/R Stereo inputs on the front panel and stereo effects loop jacks on back panel. , true stereo w/chorus, reverb and vibrato. 2x10's. Pristine cleans. I run an SD10 and electric and acoustic guitars thru mine. I don't know why this amp hasn't caught on with...

I can't remember where it was I read that not all tube amps need to be biased when the power tubes are replaced, as long as the replacements are a matched set. Also, that same article said that biasing tubes is a means of getting peak performance and longevity from the power tubes, but not necessari...

Can I "bias" the tubes? What tools are needed to do that? Do all tube amps need that procedure? And also, thank you AJM, for getting a dialogue started.

Peavey Combo Tube Replacement

I have a Peavey Valve King50 II that the power tube "health" lights on the front panel are telling me the tubes are not working correctly(they have gone green to RED.) I will be replacing the two 6L6 power tubes when they arrive this week. To be safe, I also ordered three 12AX7 tubes for t...

Pedal Steel Instruction Wanted/Old Bridge,NJ

I'm threating to wipe off the years of dust on my rig and make a serious attempt to learn, at the very least, some basic E9 skills. I am a visual learner and need to see up close how things are done. If you are relatively close to Old Bridge, NJ, I would like very much to speak with you. Email or PM...
