 I was using a photo that was not very clear to identify this amp. It is actually a PV 260 with a Trans Tube Fex setup. I am buying a home built double ten and this amp and several extra pickups come with it. The guitar was built by a former engineer for the Moller Organ Company here in Hagers...

Marlen Endplates

Jerry, I looked at a single ten Marlen online; these endplates match perfectly. Then I remembered I once had a single ten Marlen; that is why they looked familiar; I just said Sho~Bud because I knew I had seen similar endplates before; but it turns out they're like my old Marlen, not my Sho~Bud's. T...

I agree with Lane.

I agree with Lane; a simple Korg CA-1 Chromatic Tuner will do everything you need to do, even after you become an experienced player. The important thing is being in tune, and that little white Korg tuner does that as well if not better than the expensive stuff.

Lyndle, from what I'm seeing here, you've done everything right so far. If the store gives you too much of a hassle, do like I said in my earlier post... Call your local Television News Consumer Hotline. That is where TV News stations help people with consumer problems; just like this one. The botto...

Claim

I've seen damaged items of all sorts over the years. A claim needs to be filed ASAP. If the seller has a receipt for both packaging and shipping from a UPS Store; that is all that is needed as proof that the guitar was supposed to have been properly packaged for shipment. But that needs to be spelle...

Hi Bill, I don't know where you're located, but the Guitar Center has replacement knobs for Peavey amps. Try their website to see if you can get them online.

I found what I need.

I found a place here in San Francisco where I can make everything that I need from scratch. It's called TechShop. You buy a membership and then you can use the equipment. They have everything from a milling machine to a 3-D printer, a full woodworking shop that include a planer. They also have compu...

When I was still a kid wanting to learn steel guitar my uncle brought me a record of Slims, Indian Love Call. Gene, have you ever played the Fair's in either Hagerstown MD or Fredrick MD. It could have been York PA. as well. In 1946, my uncle Hubert bought one of these sets. His had the Bakelite fretboard as well as the upgrade knobs, the Gibson clear knobs with numbers and a gold background. The amp was the same as this. Hubert died in 1948 from complications of injuries received on D-Day. I was born in 1949, and when ...

Looks like a friends old guitar.

High Scott, this guitar looks an awful lot like Gardner Cook's old Marlen; but I'm sure his was much older; perhaps the late 60's. Gardner is from Sharpsburg Maryland just north of where the Civil War Battle of Antietam was fought. He was a very busy player from the 50's through the early 90's. His ...

L T's Epiphone

I remember when L T lived in Chambersburg, PA. He rebuilt my Gibson BR-9 for me. He got this guitar out and allowed me to get myself lost with ten strings; we both had a good laugh. When he played it though, it had a warm mellow tone that was fantastic; a great guitar.
