Sho-Bud S12 Pro 1 (6160) ~'74
I'm selling my PSG. Extended E9. 3 pedals, 4 levers. Original case. Has a new RKR lever. Missing one foot. I think everything else is original. Sounds great. Plays great. Normal wear and tear for a guitar of this vintage. Just don't have time to practice right now so I'm letting her go. LKL raises E...

Thank you, Jerry! That makes complete sense. I didn't even think of rods connecting to the top of pedals! Now I just need to measure my rod length. If I want my A pedal to sit slightly higher than my B pedal, should I order the length accordingly? Right now, all three of my rods seem to be the same ...

How do I know if I need 90 degree or 180 degree ball joints. I'm assuming 90 but you know what they say about "assume!"

Is this what I need for my pedal rod to connect to my pedal? Probably a dumb question but remember...I'm new to this thang.

I want to buy new rods and connectors. I just can't find them. I see rods on PSG Parts but I don't see the connectors on his site. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was in the Phoenix area recently and I was in the market for a steel. I emailed Fred and he called me right away. I met him at his shop the next day. I can't tell you how gracious and inviting and warm a gentleman he was. He showed me a steel he's working on and then let me sit down and play his o...

@Lane - I have no experience and no familiarity.
I also have no vise. I do have neighbors, though!
Thanks for the advice!

Pedal Rod Disconnect - Sho-Bud
Well, I just saw a video on adjusting the pedal height and I think my disconnects are just frozen in place. Like they have lock-tite on them or something. Rusted, I supposed. I'm beginning to wonder why I bought a 43 year-old guitar. (sounds great but I just want to play the damn thing)

Pedal Rod Disconnect - Sho-Bud
I have a '74(?) Sho-Bud S12 Pro 1 (6160). I need to adjust the pedal height of my three pedals (I want A to be a little higher or B to be a little lower). I am told that the disconnect that's screwed onto the end of the pedal rod should turn on the threads to make that happen. Is that true? Mine see...

Transitioning from the bedroom to the bandstand
This topic is so very timely for me. I really appreciate the great advice you all have. For me, I get to rehearsal and all those wonderful little tasty licks I practiced to death in my garage just fall apart once we're in real-time and live (even though I'm practicing to our rehearsal tapes). Then I...

I had my instructor, Pete Grant, help me with some adjustments and it's playing pretty sweet now. Amazing why a few minor tweaks here and there can do! And the tone is the real effin' deal. I played it through his Telonics and, oh man, what a sound. Even with my playing! When he got on it, fuggetabo...

How might that compare to my '74 Sho-Bud 6160 S-12? I'm kind of new and just bought this bud. Moved up from a Carter Starter. It's a nice improvement, and I tend to like the different levers (E lever is on RKL instead of LKR) and I'm loving the 12 strings (I'm a guitar player), it's Extended E9. But...

Well, I pulled the trigger and got a Sho-Bud 6160 Pro-I 12-string extended E9. It has a cracked lever so I ordered a new one and it sure needed some cleaning. But, man, is it easier to play than my Carter Starter. Night and day. And the tone. OMG...just like I hear on records! Now, back to practicin...

@ Richard - LOL. I didn't buy it. The leader of the band I was playing dobro in asked if I played steel cuz he had one lying around. I said I did and gave it up but would try again if they wanted steel. It's the Carter Starter. Now, dadgumit, I'm hooked and I'm looking for a real steel!

Damir - wow! That sure looks like the same guitar (how can you mistake those snowflakes!) I think I got lucky. I wouldn't have had a clue what to do and here in Sacramento I don't think anyone else would have either! I'm sorry for you. :-( And that illustrates exactly what I fear. Guitars I know abo...

I got an email from Tony and the guitar is a beauty. I'd love to have it. I have to sell my Les Paul first to get the cash. If it's still there, I win, otherwise, I lose.

Mark: I will definitely try that solution! Bob: My instructor is Peter Grant. I think he'd be considered a pro level player. I'm not sure about maintenance, though. I'll have to ask at my next lesson. Ned: that list is pretty exhaustive! I don't really care about looks, I care about tone and playabi...
