Sorry to hear that Michael. I've heard good things about the Antiquity replacement pickups, but make sure you replace with the right one. They come in a neck and bridge and they're wound and polarized different. As Stephen was explaining, those are wound and paired together to give you a humbucker.

Hi Michael

Beautiful Guitar -- 1959 - 1961 based on tuner pan and case.
Knobs under bridge covers are blend pots and they, blend/balance between pickups to dial in the sound you want

Hi Mark
I think it's an Angelus by Dobro or indirectly by one of the companies they built thru like Regal or Norwood Chimes.

Dan, I don't think there's anything in your posts that would give anyone cause to doubt your character. As for your instrument, it's a beautiful 1970's Deluxe 8 in great condition and anyone would be lucky to have it. Market price lately for Deluxe 8s has been $900 - $1200 regardless of manufacture ...

Thanks Noah That's the kind of input I was wanting. I'm not one to dance from foot to foot but the body has a better heft to it than I expected and I'd started to reconsider a quick turn on the hardware. Haven't heard a K & F or an early Princeton before so wasn't sure about the sound of the Fen...

Mike, I've been a Jeff Beck fan since the mid 1970's and during the very short time I've been a member of this forum I've come to enjoy your work. But when I saw this post I have to admit I was skeptical. Beck on a steel? I flat out admire what you did in this piece. You should be truly proud of thi...

Early K & F dilemma

Okay, so I got a soft spot for strays. This is what I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221270827772 And this is what it should look like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151136976031 Now when I was bidding, I had a plan in the back of my head to polish up the metal and tuners and sell them at a profit -- put...

Don't be so critical guys. If you read the auction he explains:

"I will hand deliver this to the new owner, that cost is built in to the sale price."

So the guitar only costs $15,000.00 --- the remaining $35,000.00 is for private jet rental for the hand delivery.

Hi Ken Fender guitar player and recent lap steel convert here. I think at that price point and era youre looking for a Fender Champ or Champion. Otherwise a Fender Deluxe 6 or 8 has been running $900 - $1000. Dennis gave you some good input on both buying from forum members and if youre not set on a...

Hi Len I love my SP1 -- but only for open tuned guitar on my lap dobro style and my lap steel as Ive been trying Sacred Steel. I use a round bar on lap steel for everything else. Hi Gene Stephen is steering you right pretty much all the way down the line and C. E. has given you a realistic price range -- of course condition and the right buyer are huge factors. The reason your friend thinks it's a 1954 is probably that he either used the online guitar dater or called Fender....

How did you find it as far as ease when it comes to grips?
