I attended Jeffran College in 1978 and followed him all over the Midwest for 2 or 3 years prior. The singlemost influential teacher of the Pedal Steel during that golden age.

With all the doodah going on in the world, dealing with Fred is a breath of fresh air! I bought a ProLite from him at the Dallas show and it continues to be one of the best Steel Guitars I've been fortunate enough to own!

I'm proud to own a Justice ProLite and even prouder to know the gentleman that builds each and every one. I was blessed to spend a couple hours with Fred at his shop the last time I was in Arizona and he is truly one of a kind! There's a whole lotta love goes into the process at that shop!

John Macy, Point well taken. I stand corrected on the steel guitar part. Today's use of pitch correction vocally, not so much. I failed to take into consideration the level of artistry most steel players bring to the table, Most humble apologies, sir!

in a word, NO. The Maverick was a marginal steel initially and it still is. the difference being it is now marginal and OLD.

Thanks a Million for the pics, since I retired I can only get to one event a year, since my wife has a close friend in the Dallas area we go to TSGA. I had gone to St Louis every year since the Chase Park Plaza Days. Your Photos make me miss ISGC.

Desert Rose is built in Tucson, I believe, if you can wait 6 or 7 months Fred Justice builds the Justice Guitar in Mesa and it is a top notch Pedal Steel Guitar.
