C6 Players: Where does your bar live???

Do you tend to play around a few frets, or run the whole neck? And, is it a comfort thing or tonal preference?

bOb, there is not a single time that I have logged on to the SGF Forum and not been thankful for what you do. I am sorry that this topic has caused you any more than one second of grief.

The thin skinned should not be your concern.

Fs-52

Hi Mel...I have one that was given to me as my first lap steel. Yeah, it is cheap. It sounds cheap. But, for practice...mine rides around in my car, cold, hot, bouncing around on rough roads...it stays in tune like a real...Fender.

Calling all beginners

Hello Dan, welcome to the forum. Random thoughts from a 3+ year beginner: 1. This forum is invaluable. The people in here are very generous with their knowledge. 2. Be careful with your expectations. There will be frustrating days, and good days. Focus on the fundamentals, and there will be that day...

Richard, just curious...why do play steel guitar?

Not meaning any disrespect...but, as a beginner that has a sick desire to hopefully stand in your shoes someday, it seems that you have your priorities screwed up. If it is not fun, find a new gig. You owe the instrument more than that.

Dan, that was a complete surprise. Walked in to get some lunch and there sat a black Emmons on stage. Bob Case played with a band called The Rail Ramblers. Completely ruined the afternoon plans with the wife :D
