After talking to our youth pastor at the church, I found out that we are in need of an amp for the monitor speakers for the youth group band. I will consider trades for one of those. Thanks.

6 String Magnatone lap steel

I would like to sell my 6 string Magnatone lap steel. It plays and sounds really good, no major scratches or gouges. It does have a dirty pot (tone I think) and could use a good cleaning. Comes with original case which has some wear on it. I played this guitar for a year in the church band. I would ...

After reading the thread that Russ put up, I am not convinced on how much farther I want to pursue the entire process of using robotics (servos/solenoids) to play a pedal steel. It seems to me that I prefer the more traditional sounds of the instrument. Its not my intent to let a computer decide wha...

Wow, great input guys. I didn't think about the mechanics of a solenoid I guess. So thinking about servos to run the levers/pedals is an interesting thought. I currently play the lap steel (Peavey Powerslide) which I am not impressed with, but I love the sound of a pedal steel. I know that wi...

The thought of taking the saw to this guitar has crossed my mind a time or two. However, I feel that it would make someone a very nice instrument that has a flavor for its appearance and sound. It will get me by until I can acquire something a little more form fitting. I have been watching...

Need some direction

Greetings all! First let me say that I am really enjoying the website and all the information that is available! Thanks for putting it together for all of us to use. I have been playing the lap steel now for about 4 months and have been getting a little better, just need to practice more. Anyway, I ...
