John, The reason you can't get in touch with them is that they are made in China now and I don't know how long ago they moved. Thanks John

Yes but They don't make them for Steelguitars anymore. They did tell me to just soak the ones I have in fingernail polish remover with acetone. Not all of them are stiff so that's a plan now. I ordered the Grover but the pin never lined up and the shaft that goes into my head was too big and has to ...

The Grovers I have are like that too and I'm not drilling on my Franklin so they can fit. You know Grovers are made in China now so that is a problem too. Changes are not always for the best. Thanks Bobby.

Yes I was told the same and I got some Acetone like sperzel told me and I am going to soak them in that and it will break it up some. I was told by them to use some Lith-grease on it then. Hardest part is finding the right one for your Steel guitar. The Sperzel's work on most of them but some are a ...

Steelguitar tuners.

I ordered some Grover tuner keys but they are too small. Any idea's for getting them from Grover or other. My sperzel tuners are real hard to turn. I did try oiling them but didn't work. Sperzel does not make them for steelguitar anymore. I know some of you have replaced yours with Grover but what s...

I was told by Sperzel that they were not available anymore and he said get some fingernail polish remover with Acetone in it. Soak the keys and then put Lith-ease white Lithium grease in it wherever you can get it in, and it should be good. That's what I did and had pretty good results.

I was just wondering what the hype was for flags on the knee levers. My right does work for both necks and is harder to work but no problems here. Thanks for all the input.

I tend to sit more right than in the middle of the guitar. Long time habit I guess and now I'm used to it. My Franklin has the letters 060 on the bottom and I got it about 1982 I think. My Zum is the one I'm thinking about. Lot younger then!

Jack the black one looked like an idea so as not to mess up my levers. Actually I was thinking more of the little Zum Encore with one on the left knee left.

Knee lever flags

What do they put them on for? I thought maybe because it hurts your knee on certain ones because of the size of our knee levers. I would not mind doing it on a couple but I don't want something that has to screw into my old one and ruin it. I have the aluminum but hate to ruin my Knee lever with hol...

I met Jim maybe 8 years or more ago and had him put a knee lever on my Franklin one time while there and spent many a day visiting and playing some of the steels on display in his shop and was able to meet lots of great steel players while there. JayDee for one. Fun just hanging and watching a pro a...

Cross bar on some steel guitars

Just kind of curious as to why the cross bar on some steels? My thoughts are, it has something to do with not flexing? Ron

I don't really know why I bought mine in !982 from Mr Franklin.I went to the steel convention in St Louis to order one and after playing the demo model, I ordered it. It just sounds good to me. We are just 2 happy partners now. :D :D
