Eddie Rivers stopped by on his way home for Christmas yesterday. While catching up on talk, He mentioned that Ray Benson gave him Gene Crownover's Four neck StringMaster for a Christmas gift. That's history being carried on. [This message was edited by Bill McRoberts on 26 December 2006 at 05:28 PM.] |

I heard about that, Bill. Did he tell you about the Legends tour he's doing with Ray Price, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard? Wow! |

Yes, The Wheel is going to be the back-up band. This is going to be quite an event. |

Does Mr. Rivers also play pedals? I thought he was mostly a lap player? |

Chris,
Eddie will probably be playing his D-10 Sho-Bud or his D-10 Sho-Bud Baldwin (6 + 1 I believe) with the Legends Tour. He plays pedals implementing only the bare-bones standard pedal set-up on E9th and B6th (instead of C6th). Most of the time he plays pedal steel with 1 or 2 knee levers, but makes up for additional changes using bar slants. He plays pedal steel very well . |

That's true Bill. Eddie always taught us to do different things with the same old licks. That way of thinking in combination with his ability with non-pedal playing got him the gig with The Wheel! |
