I'm sure y'all seen these on Ebay ... and thanks to Jay F. who gave me a heads up ... I nabbed the first one ... and the second ...

On the first one, I eased the edges and corners (I don't "pull off") ... so I don't get in hung up movin' in/out of the strings..

They are very nice ... solid brass ... hold up well to my fast vibrato ...

A nice "soft attack" ... not as noisey as the old steel ones.

0.5" thick ... kinda a "Stevens bar" indent on top ...

I'm sendin' the second one for TDC (thin dense chromium) plating.

What can I say ... I'm a bar junkie ...

Ordered a custom Gary Swallows too ... Decided to start treatin' myself nice.

Boy, I'd love to see Chuck Brattian (Red Rajah/Black Phoenix) do a "Flattie" ... hint hint ...

I am also awaiting a Swallow bar with a custom roll on one end.
I would love to try one of those flatties someday.
I will post a report when in.

Gary, what is a custom roll on one end? Something like a bullet?

I found a couple of flatties in my bar box. I've never even tried them. Guess I'll give them a whirl now.

Sorry guys, I'm not even gonna go there. The jokes are too obvious. Let someone else have the perks.....

I think I played The Swallow Bar once - there were a lot of flatties, and I did get a custom roll at the end! Those bar boxes sure come in handy . .

Thank you Howard

That bar sort of resembles an old dobro bar that I have. If it had concave sides it would pass for a dobro bar.

Could anyone make a comparison to a Dunlop Lap Dawg (chrome-steel)? I ask because it's the only bar I have, and I haven't tried anything else. Mine is 3 1/4", and I see that this one is quite a bit shorter. Would it be easier or more difficult for slants? This brass bar looks like it might be a bit more comfortable for me to hold...it's taller, which I think I'd like. Seems like my hand never gets quite comfortable with the contoured sides.

I just opened the second one up ... I had mentioned in an email that I'd like to try one of his done at 3/8" instead of 1/2" (width) ...

So he milled this one down for me ... nice guy !!!!

Howard ... When I talked with Gary S. and said I didn't "hammer on/pull off" ...

He said he made a model that is rolled off ... like a semi bullet ... one or both ends. Of coure I went with it.

The Exm07 in Zebra Wood seemed the most "flattie like" ... so I chose that one.

Gary ... sure I can, send it on down.

Geoff ... I don't have a Lap dog ... but I have a Sheerhorn, SP2, SP1 and a couple Stevens.

I find the flatties "more natural" to grip than any other type of bar ... Sculpted or bullet. (just my opinion).

Forward slants are easy enough ... plus you get a "good view" ...

Check out this Roland Peachy film ... La Rosita

Reverse slants ... ahhh ... nope (least I can't).

I know these flatties are "novelties" to most folks ... but they are fun.

Roland Peachy's Rosita...

A three neck guitar and he uses all three in one song, pretty impressive! What a showman!

Watch closely... are all three necks tuned the same? hmmmm.... Bill Leff suggested this a few months back and I tend to agree with him.

Gary, I did receive your email with the attachments, thank you. I'm only seeing your request for me to post it now on this thread. Sorry I dropped the ball.

Good thing Rick picked up my slack.

Wow, it sure does look pretty.

That bar would be much easier to hang onto on a cool day when the hands are dry and as slippery as all get out.

Per RP's tunings, do an archive search in 'no peddlers' under- Roland Peachy's tunings -and the full tunings for his triple neck are there (D9/A7/E13).
