IGSGC (St Louis) Video

I have just received permission from the man himself, Scotty, to dig in my archives and post a few clips from the International Steel Guitar Convention.

This will be so the ones of you that have never been to the show, can see what you are missing.

This will take me a little time, but I hope to begin in the next couple of weeks.

I plan to start with a couple of deceased players and then once I contact some of the current players to get permission, I will proceed with a few of them.

We stopped video'ing several years ago, so nothing is brand new, but hopefully you will see your favorite player and maybe even a few that you haven't heard of.

Stay tuned and all of you reply here and let's give Scotty a BIG THANK YOU!

This is GREAT news !

When you started posting videos on YouTube I was hoping that Scotty would permit this and so he has ! I've been to the St.Louis convention twice, but it's just a little expensive, so having some video's from there is the next-best thing.

THANK YOU Bill and THANK YOU Scotty !

Fantastic news, Bill!
I, like many others, have always felt it was a sin to let this priceless video stay locked up and unviewed when there is so much talent to show and share with the steel guitar world.
I'll be looking for it, thanks.

Sorry I don't have anything as far back as Joaquin.
I am working on getting some video ready as we speak of Jimmy Day, Hal Rugg and Gene O'Neal.
Stay tuned.

Bill, this is great news. I would urge Scotty to continue to video the ISGC, so that this same thing could still be done, say, 10 or 20 years from now when some of the current players have retired or passed on. As long as it's recorded, there's always the option in the future.
Thanks for all you're doing, Bill,
Jim

Jim,
I could not agree with you more. However there has been much water under the bridge concerning video taping.

It is also an expensive ticket with virtually no return. This has been proven at other shows that do video tape. Most never get back there investments.

This among other things has stopped us in St. Louis.

Maybe someday.

Billy and Scotty!

A million thanks for these great videos, Bill for the great work in editing and Scotty for graciously allowing Bill to post them.

Maybe there is enough material for the next 50 years!!! Image
