What kind of guitar is he playing? It sounded like he had a touch of delay added to the mix. Beautiful tone and beautiful execution.

Jean Yves plays a Wiesner
so does Lionel Wendling

Wiesner is Swiss built
not in production anymore since the builder passed away
these steels were influenced by another Swiss builder : Schild

Hi Ron, I found these clips on YOUTUBE.
Search with key words (name of artist)
..I don't know anything about else.
If you want save youtube clip video on your hard disk:
First you need have FLV player: http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/article/flv-player-updated
Then, go to YOUTUBE. You copy clip URL for exemple: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4IOx9pEE2h8&search=merle%20haggard
Then, go to : http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
paste the clip URL click on "download"
After downloading, in the window "dowload" under click (right- click) save target as => get_video
rename the clip and add ".flv", choose your directory and save.

Read the clip with FLV player
If flv player don't run automatically > click right> open with > choose "flvpalyer"> allways with this programm.

Have fun!

Thanks for posting these. It's great to hear how all of these different people take the steel and approach it in various ways.

Please post more!

Nice site, guys! I had no idea there were so many French steelers.

Crowbear, good to see you again, holding forth in your workshop. Keep on Zumming . . . I mean strumming.
