The case for the Tacoma Papoose travel guitar is a perfect glove fit for a Bakelite. However, it's a lightweight soft case and I am suggesting it strictly for hand carrying, and it's set up for backpack style as well.
Let me know if you find them sold alone, without the guitar, as I'm having trouble in that dept.
For something more substantial, try a higher grade baritone uke case. Usually takes a bit of minor modification at the neck support area.
[This message was edited by Ron Whitfield on 30 December 2004 at 04:52 PM.]

I got the Ambassador case. I sent a tracing and they made a perfect fit. I would trust it in baggage on a plane. It was very very cheap. Well under $200.
Its a nice mom and pop store. Give them a call.

Hi Dan,
If you are interested in a case that fits the vibe of your guitar as well as a perfect fit you might consider one of my cases. Here's a link to some photos. http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dunamisdesigns317/my_photos
Feel free to give me a call,

I went to a sporting goods store and got a small shotgun case that had foam inserts and cut out the bottom piece to fit the guitar. The top foam compresses slightly to hold it snug. I lined the bottom with some thin foam to add a little protection for abrasion.
I flipped the bottom foam over before I cut it so the flat surface is now UP. These cases usually have foam that has a wavy/bumpy surface on one side, flat on the other. So I have the flat surface 'up' on the bottom cut snug, the top foam is wavy and not cut out.
For general protection and auto gigs etc. it's perfect. I'd trust in as carry-on. I would not check it.
The one I got was on sale for $49.95 and has locks.

Chris,
A few years ago I went the shotgun case route for one of my steels. Functionally it worked fine. Socially and politically correct-wise I felt very conspicuous whenever I went out in public with it.
Look Mommy! that man has a gun just like Daddy's! Did he kill Bambi's mother?

Gerald,
yeah, I know - but I covered up the 'hunting-dog-chasing-pheasant' logo with an HSGA sticker
Out here in our county you can go down to the Sheriff and get a concealed weapon permit for $152.50 - so nobody looks at the case anymore, they're all staring at the gun in my holster

Just kidding - I don't have a holster.
