Alfred Apaka record question

It appears that Alfred Apaka did an album of Broadway showtunes entitled, "Broadway Wears A Lei."

What's the music like? I'm curious if the background music is "Hawaiian" (like he was performing these songs at the Hilton Hawaiian Village with his band), or a studio orchestra with strings and such (non-Hawaiian sound). Or, possiby a mix?
