I know it doesn't belong here in this section.. but maybe the moderator knows just where to put it !!

this turned out to be a "SCAM".. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3746656105

What was the scam? (Gotta watch out for that low feedback, I guess...)

Yes, Baz, how and when did you realize it was a SCAM? I hope you didn't lose any money to the scammer. Please let us know just in case we ever find ourselves in the same predicament.

Because it's a non-pedal T-8, I think it certainly qualifies for our section.

Nice to see you are a Hofner appreciator Basil. That looks like one of the new realease ones.
I have four, a President, a Bass and a Twelve-string (archtops) and a leather Strat type.

Yes Dave It's a brand new Hofner President custom..The better half Patricia, has a Jazzica custom... their both blondes and beautiful (both the Guitars that is)..made by Hofner's top craftsman, Master Luthier Herbert Kaa.

Pat's was made to order for her, whilst mine was made for the Hofner Historian Norbert Schnepel..
(the guy who wrote the books about Hofner and all other German manufacterers (look under www.musikkeller.com ). )
he never played it and I got it as if it just left the factory..It differs from the normal President by having gold plated fitings and a fretboard in the same design as the new Verithin.
BTW I also have Hofner Golden ser # 25, made for me in 1961, the last one of only 5 accoustic versions made.. http://users.argonet.co.uk/users/steverussell/factfiles/golden/gold.html
