hi.
I've been thinking about buying the Don Helms instructional book, "Your Cheatin' Heart" from Scotty's.

I was wondering if it can be easily adapted for C6 (emphasis on easily). And I'm also just looking for some feedback from those who have it.

Finally... if this prompts anyone else to look for this book on Scotty's site, look under More Instruction from the pros and then Misc. Instruction! It took me a while to find it.
thanks

The book is all played on the top 6 strings of E13: E G# B C# E G#. It's actually an E6 tuning. It's the same as the notes of a C6 lap steel at the 4th fret.

So... all of the tab is playable on C6th, but you will be in the wrong key. To play in the right keys, you will have to add 4 to every fret number. Some of the parts will be very high up the neck.

If your C6th has a G on top, you can probably retune it up to E6th without changing strings.

And of course, no matter what key you learn a song in, Murphy's Law says every singer you encounter will sing it in some other key.

I say go for it. (Sorry, I haven't used this book.)
