Slim Whitman's steel guitar sounds

On the Jerrybyrdfanclub.com site, "About Ray" one can hear what an old 1965, wooden body Rick (small pickups)sounds like, doing the popular Slim Whitman single string SLIDE like on his older records. The tone is clear and full bodied. What do you thing?

This is a double-8 and has exceptional tone and clariety IMHO.
