I received a copy of Mike (Miguel) Smith's new CD with Teriney- "The Mike and T Cafe"- and I can't recommend it enough. While it is not strictly a steel, CD rest assured that Mike's playing evident on most of the cuts makes it worth the price of admission. His flawless technique is an inspiration to steel players everywhere and it is obvious why his reputation as a premier player is so very well deserved. The song selection is varied (hence "Cafe") and the CD is a real pleasure to listen to. I believe that it is available from their website. |

Got mine a couple of days ago. Mike is not only a great steel guitarist, but an awesome keyboard player as well. He became a personal friend of mine about 10 or so years ago, and co-produced as well as played the steel, dobro, engineered the project. He is also a great guy to know. I visited him in Phoenix a few years ago and spent a day with him there. He and his beautiful wife Tierney are precious folks as well as mega-talented. They also have a Christmas CD as well as several others available on their website. Oh, yea, if anyone would like a copy of Mike's playing via my CD. I would gladly get you a copy of it as well. |

I put on Mike and T's latest yesterday while changing strings. I had to get up several times to go re-play a cut. That's when you know something is good! You can't listen all the way through the CD. You have to start re-playing cuts again and again and wondering, "how'd he do that?" Mike again has proved he is one of the most innovative players out there.
Mike and T, great project and thanks for putting out material for "OUR" enjoyment.

Thanks to each and everyone of you! And I was hoping the CD wouldn't just end up being a drink coaster.
We've done just one live show since receiving the shipment and we were blessed to have folks really grab these things up. If this continues we might have to think about a "Cafe II" version (although I'm not sure if even 100 projects could hold all of our favorite songs).
Theresa, you made Teriney shed some happy tears as your comments meant a lot to her!
Merry and safe Christmas all!

I got my copy yesterday and this cd is great.
I've always loved Mike's playing and this was the first time I got to hear "T" sing and I could listen to her sing all day long.
Sweet!! Get to work on Cafe 2 .
