Can anyone of you tell me who played the steel guitar on the song "Bandy the Rodeoclown" by Moe Bandy?

Thanks

Ron

Weldon Myrick...I think he did most all Moe's singles.

For some reason I always thought that Lloyd Green was on that cut....Aw, what do I know, Steve?

And you are correct, Weldon did the vast majority of them. Hal Rugg also played on one album as I recall..

Weldon was the one, and he done a great job on a bunch of Moe Bandy's songs. However, Lloyd Green did record steel on some of Moe's earlier songs.

Seems to me like Lloyd was on the Moe song and L.P. years ago titled "Hank Williams You Wrote My Life." It's been awhile since I listened to those recordings.

Next, there was a release of Moe's greatest hits a few years ago, two or three years back and I purchased that CD it was really Country to the Core and Moe Bandy at his best.

My best you!

It was in fact Weldon on that Bandy cut. I had recently moved to Nashville and was fortunate enough to be a studio guest of Charlie McCoy that day. I know Kenny Malone played drums but I don't remember who else was there. Hope that helps.

I believe that Weldon is still playing around Nashville and is better than ever! A good friend of mine, there, is a huge fan of Weldon as am I.

That was definetly Weldon on that cut Sonny. That is such a classic style, one of my favorite things he ever played. "Steel guitar in a dim lit bar knows exactly how I feel...." Preach on, preach on.
