I don't spend a lot of time trying new knee lever changes (obviously),but my pal Larry showed me one of his last year at Bobby Reed's show (Benton, Ill), and I just couldn't resist having Johnny Cox put it on my Legend. It raises the 6th (G#) to match the 5th (B), what's that, a tone and a half, and I've really been using it a lot. I don't work enough in the studio anymore to put it on anything major, but I've been wearing it out on some of the 'Tex Nobody'sessions I do. Maybe this change has been used before, but it is new to me and once again, THANK YOU LARRY DOLAN.

Is the A in tune when you release the lever and lower from B to A?

Hey E.B...don't you mean Ab, yes it comes back in tune on this Legend, but I guess that would depend on the steel, or maybe on the string.

Russ, I'm using a #22 for my 6th string because when Buddy came out with that full tone drop, he thought the #20 was little floppy. So, with this new change, I assume that #20 is more ideal? And what string combination are you using besides the 4th,5th and 6th or 8th strings?

No, I mean A natural. In other words, is the pitch of the A the same when you raise to it as when you lower to it?
I like this change, or G# to A# on a knee lever which is the same pull tuned differently, but on most guitars, the pitch of the A is quite a bit higher when approached from above.

Hey E.B....I must correct my original post....the change is not on a knee lever, it's on the floor on pedal one, temporarily, so I haven't been using it along with raising the the Ab to A....I know I'm missing a lot this way and I intend to have it on a knee as soon as I decide where to put it....may have to add a lever and go back to the old 'cluster' that I've been too lazy to use for a number of years.

Russ, the reason I'm asking about the # you use on the 6th string is because with that change, it could make a difference on an 'in' tune return. And what other pedals would be used in conjunction with that change? I noticed you mentioning that it's more beneficial to have it being activated by a knee lever.

Hey Ted....since I curently don't use the change with raising the G# to A I don't know if I'll have a return problem or not, but if so the #22 might help.
