Sorry no YouTube here, just audio. These were all played with my MSA tuned to the Peterson StroboFlip "0E9" setting which I have started using recently. With a few minor exceptions, both necks were tuned with the StroboFlip "0E9" defaults including pedals.

Hi Greg -- nice and clean (and in tune!). Are you recording direct? It sounds clear and crisp--I really like the tone. Also, sounds like you really layed off the volume pedal, which I've almost set aside on quicker tunes.

Al,
I am running the MSA into a Boss RV-5 on plate reverb then into a Steel King then mic'ed with a Shure SM-57. These were recorded in 16 bits on a Yamaha AW1600. I don't pump the volume much when recording cause it creates level problems. When playing live I pump it a lot to create more dynamics especially on C6th styled stuff.

Greg -- I listened again with head phones, and gee, I'm just so impressed with the sound you're getting with your MSA, Steel King, and SM57! On second thought, why should three staples like an MSA, Steel King, and SM57 surprise me with their sound/reproduction?
Inspiring.
Oh, and you know, your playing is terrific, too.

Sample of a gospel song I am working on. The Peterson settings seem to tame the "BC" pedal beast at least for this guitar and the 6th sounds with the Eb's lowered seem tolerable. I think I'll keep it!

Ken,
It's City Lights.
I did some of these songs in BIAB but later went out and got a Boss drum machine, programmed it step by step and a Peavey bass with active pickups. The bass has enough treble and a tight sound that negates the need for a tick tack bass to some extent. BIAB is really great but I like the tight simple sound in the background and you can learn a lot more about organizing a band and music when you are forced to program drum parts and play bass and make it all gel.
After a while you find yourself listening to more than just the steel parts in songs. And even songs I don't care for, I've grown to appreciate what the other instruments are doing and how it's all constructed.
