If you havn't heard the new George Strait CD, you owe yourselves a listen! Paul is all over it and just flat tears it up on "Texas Cookin".

The song samples at the Barnes and Noble web site sounded just awesome so I just ordered it. Seems like real country music to me with the pickin' hot and up front in the mix.

It's an old Guy Clark song that we've been playing around Texas for years. George does an awesome job on it and Paul does in fact tear it up.
The song is one chord, with a sold blues groove. Therefore a natural for C6. Before I ever heard George's cut, I knew how Paul was gonna hit it.

The production on the second track reminds me of Paul's sound on the Martina McBride cover album. And the E9 line on "Wrapped" is great too.

Thanks for the tip! Last years "Somewhere Down in Texas" was a great album, if this is just as good I'll have to spend some more money on iTunes! |
