I just got back from the cash register and souvenir capitol of the world, also known as Dollywood.Mr.Stonecipher was really making that blue Emmons Lashley Legrande D-10 talk!Seeing and hearing him play was the highlight of the day for me.He's a pretty fair comedian, too.Didn't get to speak to him,but I really enjoyed the show. |

Andy, Stoney was the guy who got me started on steel guitar. I first met him at Dollywood back in 1998 and at the time, he was playing a plum-colored Emmons. He's a great steel guitarist and a great friend. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10-aka "Redgold Beauty" |

I usually make at least one trip per year to Dollywood and I could sit all day and listen to Stoney. He is a great player and really nice person. He always has the time to talk and you are right Andy, he is lots of fun to watch. Seeing and talking to Stoney is always the highlight of my trip to the Smoky Mountains. I am a Stoney Stonecipher fan! |

Hey Andy: I wish you had made your way up to the stage and said hello, because I always like to talk to the steel players. And all the rest of you guys, I sure do appreciate all the kind words you said about me --- even you Bobby HA HA. I wish all of you could come to Dollywood sometimes and for sure, make it to St. Louis to the ISGC in the near future and say hello to Bobby Caldwell and his great Staff Band that I get to share the stage with year after year. Hope to see you one place or the other soon. [This message was edited by Stoney Stonecipher on 26 September 2006 at 06:44 PM.] |

"He's a pretty fair comedian,too."
Wait till I tell Ray and Ken bout that!
Seriously....the world could use a lot more people like Stoney.

Stoney is a great player, but he is also a wonderful person, as is his lovely wife Lois.
I consider them dear friends.
I really miss the Knoxville steel show, which Stoney put on for many years...cya...Ronnie |
