I got to see and talk much with John at the "Bluegrass inn" Tuesday and "Legends Corner" Wednesday on Broadway.

His playing were superb. At the "Bluegrass Inn" they did quite a few 4\4 shuffles with upright bass... I was in heaven.

At Legends they did some too but more western swing as well. Sounded real good.

I got to talk much with him after they were finish and John were very nice to talk too.
John also told me that he will continue playing live gigs as long as he can.
I told him that this is much appreciated by the whole steel guitar community and his fans over the whole world.

I look forward to hear his sets in St. Louis.

I'm in Louisville for the weekend but will go to the 'Station Inn' Monday to hear John with the 'Time Jumpers'

Hey, I love beeing in the USA

I was fortunate enough to get to vacation in Nashville for a week this summer. The high point of my trip was getting to hear and see the "Time Jumpers" at the Station Inn on Monday night. What a band this is! Three top notch fiddle players, a wonderful lead guitar, John Hughey on the steel, stand up bass, and many good vocalists. They plays lots of western swing and some good old standard country tunes. There is more talent in this band than you can even believe. And, they play at a volume that does not damage your ears.
John Hughey plays amazing C6th swing, then goes to the E9 neck for a country tune and just rips your heart out! For my money, he is still the best out there today.
