Porter Waggoner recorded, probably the mid-'60's. Really the classic Nashville steel sound of the period, and great playing to boot. Great use of the acoustic 12 string on the solo, as well.Porter's vocal harmonies are somewhat folk and country, something that
probably goes back to "Satisfied Mind."
I wager either Lloyd Green or Hal Rugg.

Thanks Al.
Has anybody (somebody probably already has)
done a sessionography for Buddy?
The years he was in Los Angeles would be of
particular interest.
I guess I assumed that he was tied up with the Cherokee Cowboys for the last few years
he was in Nashville, before he moved out west. He did "Tennessee Firebird," "Live at
Dancetown USA" (one I gather he'd rather forget), and probably many others... |
