Had a very exciting time yesterday at Medina Lake, TX. Al Udeen came down from Minnesota and his son, Chad, came down from Nashville where he plays with Gary Allen's band. All were good, but Chad is really good and hot! If you get a chance, I recommend that you go see and hear hime play.

Dave! How's it going? Haven't seen you in a few years. I am about to move back to your area so maybe we can pick together again sometime.

So the old man made it out of the house and all the way to Texas. Seriously though, two better people I dont think you can find. Chad is a great player and his daddy is a legend in my book. I learned so much from that man. He showed me all of those magic Weldon licks and they sure are comin in handy now.....

I went to the gig at Pops at Lake Medina and even played a set, it was quite a show.
Chad is a smoking player.
Much fun with Dave.

Last night,(Thur.)I went to the club ("Sputnik's") that we play at on Wednesdays.
Thurdays is "Blues Night". Who comes walkin' in,& sets up his steel,& jams w/ the blues band...Chad "C.J." Udeen. He SMOKED it on some funky blues. I had to keep lookin' up to make sure it wasn't the guitar player, playin' "slide" style. GREAT job C.J.

Chad is a 'chip off the old block' as they say. His dad Al is one terrific steel player and his son Chad...well, he is one of the greatest 'new guys' on the block for sure.

I remember back in about '90 when I was living in MPLS getting a call from AL to say come on over and hear his son Chad and his buddy, Wayne Dahl. Well, us two old boys sat there grinning as those two young pickers played up a storm! I knew Al was right when he said Chad and Wayne were going to make it big one day.

Looking forward to drinking some ice tea with you Al and talking about when we were young pickers!! HA

Bill I sure do remember that day with Wayne & Chad, but I also remember you playing some & you sounded great! It was the first time last Sunday in Tx. that I got to sit along side Chad & play, we also played a gig on the 4th at the Lake Hills Legion while in Tx, Thanks for the kind words! Al Udeen

AL is a great guy and picker! Its really neat that he got his son to follow in his footsteps! And, yes..........Chad can really "HONK"! AL taught him everything he knows! I only wish AL would still play SHO-BUD........he just looks more at home behind one!!!
