Here's tune for those of you that want to hear more of Jerry Byrd's fabulous steel guitar stylings. I realize it has the voices of Anita Kerr and the Anita Kerr Singers but I, and many other Jerry Byrd fans, feel this is one of Jerry's super best albums. Hope you enjoy it. http://www.jerrybyrdfanclub.com/ [This message was edited by Ray Montee on 11 July 2006 at 01:52 PM.] |

I liked it "cheesey" or not. That tone is just awesome Ray. I bought a 7 string ricky bout a year ago and love the tone of it, I wish I could make those same sweet sounds come out of it. Keep em comin Ray! |

Andy! What kind of amp are you playing thro?
The smaller the speaker, the BETTER the SOUND I've found. Also, the closeness of the strings to the pickup. |

Ray, I play through a Fender Twin but I also have the smaller microcube and also a little ohau amp that came with a lap guitar. The microcube sounds pretty sweet but I know there's some really sweeter sounds in that guitar that my limited touch cannot reveal. |

Ray,
RE: "cheesy"
With all due respect to you,I have to disagree with you on the Anita Kerr Singers.
I've been in Nashville since '68,& "IMHO" the Anita Kerr Singers were the BEST vocal group to come out of here. In fact,I haven't heard a vocal group SINCE,to even equal them. The A.K.S. was the pinnacle of back-up vocal groups. I have several albums by the A.K.S.,& STILL think they're tops!

Smiley.......I agree!
Love the lady and the choral groups were the best even dating back to the old Red Foley days.
It was another FORUM MEMBER that made that remark. I merely went along with it.........
tongue in cheek, if you will. |
