| I like both amps for different reasons. The Fender, which I still have, has a solid warm mid range with extended highs and lows, while the Peavey has the best distortion free sound for its size and weight. However, when it comes to throwing one of them in the back of an SUV these days, I’ll go the light route. Maybe when I turn 70 next year I’ll feel differently, but not now. |

It doesn't matter what kind of amp Buddy uses. He's gonna sound like Buddy. IT'S ALL IN THE HANDS, MY FRIENDS !
btw, I've been using a Nashville 112 for every kind of gig. Haven't needed my NV 400 since I got the 112. ......... JD

I'll have to echo my buddy John
One important note re: the NV112:
It may not sound great 'out of the box'. 
Folks had mentioned that the speaker needs to be broken in and I kinda ignored it. I played a few gigs and thought it sounded kind of sterile. I used it for several more rehearsals and gigs and IT BLOSSOMED! I play in a VERY LOUD country/rock band with everything miked -- just using the amp/spkr as an onstage instrument monitor. Works GREAT for that application.
With Brad Sarno's Black Box, it is as warm as any amp made today and is plenty loud and clean, especially when miked. It is as close to the original Session 400 as anything Peavey has made in the interim.
I love my Standel amps and still use them often, but the NV112 is a very respectable amp, especially for its size and weight.
