I have composed a little Thumbpickin'
Solo on the E9th tuning for the purpose of
helping those who may be interested in
learning the technique.
I will have the tablature to match this
MP3 shortly and beleive it will offer
a quick and effective way to learn the
Travis/Atkins style of playing.

You must be able to understand tablature
and have already developed good blocking
technique. The Tablature makes it possible
for you to bypass CONCENTRATION on the
Thumb movement. Simply by reading the tab
,,,it happens automatically.

The little solo presented here utilizes
A and B pedals and Knee lowering E's a half.
When you learn this on E9th you can use the
technique for most other tunings with practice.

If you wish to learn this song email me for
information.
roythomson@eastlink.ca
I do this by email attachments and answer
questions etc.

Here's the link to "THUMBPICKIN' TO GO" http://freefilehosting.net/?id=pd32kKXY

If the link does not work for you then email
me at the above address and I will send you
the MP3 return email.

Sorry Jimmie I encased it with some symbols
and that nullified the address.

Hi Roy, I couldn't get it, but I'm interested as I play a little Chet style on my six string. Could you email me with it? Thanks Larry

Thanks for the positive response everyone
from many places in the world. I am so happy to see interest in this great way to play steel guitar in addition to all the
other successful styles out there.

It should be remembered that those who learn this little tune are really learning a technique. You can go on to apply it to
many other songs just like Merle and Chet
did and Bobby Garrett and Bobbe Seymore etc.
etc.

I now have a slow down on this tune, note for note so that it can be learned measure by measure. This MP3 is now part of the package.
The tab is about five lines so that you can focus right on the "heart " of this style
without turning pages and forgetting the
phrasing.

Very Nice Roy, I would love to see the tab. You don't have to slow the audio track down for me, but if you could double space the tab I might be able to catch it.
