I had the chance to visit yesterday with my friend and teacher Royce Tarver. He is recovering very well and gave me a sneak preview of what he is going to play on the DSSGA Show in Gulfport on June 3rd. For those that have not heard this guy, he is truly one of the best. I could only watch in awe at his playing yesterday. He is still quick and flawless in his playing. In my book, he is one of the best, I am glad to call him my friend. I am proud to see that he is recovering well and back from the sick bed and playing again. Even at warp speed, he never misses a note! Man I wished I could play that fast. Welcome back Royce!!!!!!

Two of my favorite steel pickers in the world, Ronnie Miley and Charlie Moore. Charlie, be careful when you fill in for me on the Opry with all them super licks or I wont have a job left, you are GOOD!!! When you fill in for me, people ask me why I can't play like you, and I have to tell them because I AINT GOOD AS HIM! Hey Ronnie, how are things in Nashville! Talking about a good steel player, look who is in Nashville and who is still in LA. You are one of the BIG BOYS now, and I am still learning down here in LA. Ronnie, you are a great steel player and one of the best in my book! Dont keep all those great licks to yourself, next time that I see you, share some of that knowledge with an old friend. Look forward to seeing you again ole buddy. Charlie, say hello to my friends Mr.Huey and Mr.Carlou!!!!!! I really like those guys! Ask Carlou if he has found a comfortable tuning yet per what you told me in MaGee, LOL. Later!!!!

Such good news about Royce. Keep on getting better my friend. Thanks Danny for inserting this about Royce.
Royce called me the other day and he has a few nice suprises in store for our June 3 show here in Gulfport. He and Bob Saxton and more friends are cooking up this for us.
Will be good to hear Royce, Danny, Buck, Joe Wright, and Terry Bethel and all our regulars. Ben O'Dell, Ed Clark and many more.
Thanks for making this special effort Royce.
