Got to see the rerun of the show ya'll are talkin about this morning. Great "Way To Survive", Joe. I think that slow camera man may have been Bruce Zumsteg judging from how long it stayed on the Zum logo a couple of times. Way to go. And ole Leroy, he still plays so good it almost lets me ignore all the "stuff" he's got mixed in his sound. Keep it up Joe, but don't get the big head from all these compliments so your possum hat don't fit.
[This message was edited by Danny Letz on 18 April 2006 at 07:13 PM.]

Thanks Danny. As far as the song goes, I really felt like I did a mediocre job on it, so the cap still fits with room to spare!!

I have what I think is a funny "small world" story about Joe. I've known Joe for a few years and took steel lessons from him a couple years back. And for a few years I worked at Midwest Country.

This past summer I made a trip to Nashville and went to see Rhonda Vincent at the Ryman. We got to our seats early and the guy next to me started schmoozing. He said he was from Alabama and I told him I was from Minnesota. Right away this guy asks me if I had ever seen Midwest Country on RFD or if I had ever been there. I told him I used to work at Midwest Country. This seemed to make the man's day. He then asked, "Do you know Joe Savage?" I said that Joe was a friend of mine. This seemed to get the guy excited. He then proceeded to yell at his buddy a few seats down and said, "Hey ---, this guy knows Joe Savage!" His buddy seemed to be excited by this revelation as well.

We proceeded to talk about the different artists that had played at Midwest Country, but these two guys kept asking about Joe. They said they were big bluegrass fans, but really liked Joe.

Finally one of the gentlemen finally said, "Do you know Becky Schlegel?" "She's hot!"

That's a funny story Steve. That RFD really gets watched. We're getting a lot of new people at Sandstone because of it.
Neil, I should get it today. (Tues.) I'll have to move a few things around before it hits the stage. I doubt that it will replace the Zum in preference, but I'll soon find out.
Thx-Joe
