There is some really good cajun-style steeling from an old 1969 "Music Scene" episode in which Charley Pride sang "Louisiana Man." I just can't figure out who the pedal steel man is. Anyone?

That,DEFINITELY, is the late Gene O'Neal. Great steeler. I remember when he was w/ Judy Lynn. I have a "live" album by her, featuring Gene.

Yes....I noticed it, too. About an hour after my futile attempts at trying to play the licks and getting very frustrated, I gave up and just watched the video up close on my computer. Then I saw it. Argh!

What happened to Gene O'Neal?

I heard he passed away? When and how?
