Wow! Kayton really is a master.

It shows how much can be done without pedals.

I met Kayton Roberts for the first time at a Hank Snow concert, in 1969. It was an outdoor show near Dresser, Wisconsin. He told me that Chubby Wise had helped him get the job with Hank.

I believe Kayton is still playing the same D-8 Fender Steel Guitar that he was playing in 1969. I think Kayton worked for Hank Snow for more than 20 yrs.

Scotty had been inviting Kayton to play in St. Louis for a very long time before he finally accepted in about 2000 or 2001.??

Kayton told me that he plays his guitar since the 1950s, he jokingly said that he knows his guitar longer than his wife! Image

Walter - One of the best clips ever posted on the forum! Is Kayton playing anywhere near Nashville now? After Hank Snow died I believe he played for a while at a show near Hendersonville.
Back around 1960 (or later) Kayton's son sang Kalua on Hank Snows segment of the Opry - accompanied of course by Kayton. Both of the Roberts boys did a great job. Did Kayton's son pursue a musical career?

I was thinking that Kayton played with Hank Snow well over 20 years.

Thanks again for giving us that clip.
