I agree looked like Paul with an afro. I'm watching it right now.
Did you see Barbara Mandrell smoke Hal's C-6 neck on Wilburn Bros?

Paul Franklin. I saw Mel at Disneyland in about 1980, Paul was with him at that time. That was a hot ride he played on Good Woman Blues. Great band.

I never would of guessed it was PF. Didn't know he ever had an afro.

I knew Barbara played steel, but didn't know she played waay back then. What a talent!

Yep, even before that, she was on the old "Town Hall Party" show. That was in 1960, I believe, and she was all of 11 or 12 years old!

Hi Donny, I saw Barbara in the mid 70's play the Wembley Country festival here in England. She had Bobby Black on steel, and asked him to move over, and did she burn on his Sho-Bud Professional. What an amazing player she is.....same goes for Mr Black, had all his recordings with Commander Cody and the lost planet airmen. Sheer brilliant playing on there.

To Hook, Justin & Terry ~ A photo of Paul Franklin complete with afro featured on the front cover of the last issue (#'s 6 & 7) of Tom Bradshaw's Steel Guitarist magazine. If you click on "Magazines" at the top of this page you'll see him on the magazine's cover (although it's a little small)
