Steel on Mid- West Country

If you have Directv, you can pick up Mid- West Country on 379 Saturdays 6:00PM.
There's a great steeler on there named Joe Savage. Since the Opry thinks Trick Pony is country, this is a real good place to hear some GREAT real country steel!!!

Joe is a great steel player. Unfortunately, I can't tolerate the show any longer. That d@mn guitar player and that freaking delay pedal drives me crazy. I wish they would hide the pedal or replace him.

I have noticed that the cameraman thinks the guitar player is making that SWEET noise and not the steeler. It takes him a few notes to get over on Joe.
Still a 1000% better than the Opry!!!

On a somewhat related note, I almost drove off the road today when "4-Wheel Drive" came up as a bumper/pad on the "Outlaw" channel on Sirius satellite radio. Howard Stern or no, I'm never going back to terrestrial radio.

Sure wish our local Charter cable channel would air some of these shows
Might have to make a run up North and catch a show!

Say Kevin, if you subscribe to Comcast, they have the Metro Channel 6 on the cable list, and Midwest Country is broadcast every Saturday night from 9:30 to 10:30.
Let me know if you have it or not.

Did you watch the show the night that a member of the audience gave Joe a mint condition 1930 era Doperra brothers Resophonic guitar? I think Joe has been playing it on the show lately. Anybody have another, I would take it off their hands.

Lyle... Just to set the record straight, the Dobro that was given to me by those nice folks from Upstate New York is actually a mid-sixties Mosrite Dobro not a pre-war. It needed some set-up (new nut and bridge inserts). I've added a Lace Sensor pickup and this will be my Midwest Country Dobro from now on, out of respect. What a surprise it was! Thanks. Joe Savage
