Hi!

Last week I got the new album "All jacked up".

Knows anbody, which tracks Paul Franklin played with the Steel? The difference of the sound between Paul, Mike and Russ is not too big and it's hard to analyze the right tracks. :confused
In my opinion, Paul plays on track 8.
What do you think about?

Ed,

The only track that Russ Paul plays on that I know of is "Not Bad For A Bartender". I can't tell by just listening which track is Paul Franklin but I don't think he's on more than one or maybe two tracks. The rest in Mike Johnson.

Ed and Gaylon,

Happy Holidays! I recorded one day of sessions with Gretchen. 5 songs were tracked that day and I played on four of them. Unless they replaced my parts after I left, I am on four songs. I don't have a copy so I can't tell you which songs.

I was completely impressed with her singing and her conviction for maintaining her musical direction which is the sign of a real artist. John Rich also impressed me with his production skills.

Cheers,
Paul

Paul,

Thanks for the info. I've been trying my best just by listening to figure it out. I asked Gretchen and she didn't remember who was on what. I was gonna ask Bart who mixed the record next time I see him but my guess is he wouldn't remember either. I'll get you a copy and you can clear it up for us. It's all good no matter who it was. That's for sure.

Paul, Gaylon, thank you for your reply. I wish you and your family nice holidays and a happy new year 2006!

When I heard Gretchen's CD I was totally impressed of her powerful voice.

Paul, by the way, I've got over 640 cd's, where you played the lap- or pedal steel guitar or ped-a-bro or dobro, and ever becomes more and more.
Mark Knopfler says "best Pedal-Steel Player of the world" and "a musical genius" and that can I only agree!
