All fans of the steel guitar should rush to buy the Jim Stahlhut/Maurice Anderson cd titled Out of Nowhere. It can be found here on the forum. Jim and Maurice's playing really compliment each other. The rhythm section is very good and so is the arraignment of the tunes. It features a nice selection of standards with a couple of originals from Jim. If you play steel guitar you really need to own this disc. Mr. Anderson has never sounded better.

Thanks for the positive review. We just got it on KUVO the local Jazz station in Denver. Reece is completely accepted by the jazzers at the station. Imagine that A steel player accepted on a Jazz station. Thanks to Rick for the help getting it on. You can catch KUVO on KUVO.org and listen.

Is this a new CD?

Where is it available?

Nevermind, I see it's available on the Forum.

I catch KUVO a lot, but not regularly enough to have heard this CD or cut.

Maurice, one of my top favorites. From Out of Nowhere, one of my favorite songs.

Thanks for the heads up you guys.
BK

Yes it's available from the forum and also from me. Check out the sound bites on my webpage. http://dmamusic.org/musicians/jimstahlhut/
We recorded it July 25 and 26, 2005. It's all Jazz with a hot New York rhythm section I play with when I'm in NY. My webpage has all the contact info etc. that you'll need.
Thanks
Jim

I have about worn out the CD that we got from Jim.. It just does not get any smoother, or better than this.. It's so refreshing to see two Masters at work, and so compliment of each other. Jim and Reece when is the next project???? Yeah!!
Thanks for a super CD..

This arrived in the mailbox today.

What can I say. As someone who's interest lies in Jazz and who wonders what contribution steel guitar can make to the genre, this is like cool water to a man dying of thirst.

First, above all, its a great Jazz album, not matter what instruments are on it. But, as an example of what is possible in the area of Jazz Steel Guitar, it is mind blowing.

Reece's tone and taste and licks are unsurpased. It just reinforces what a treasure Reece is. I know I'm going to spend many a night slowing these tracks down and picking them apart.

So when's the next one.

Oh, and by the way...run, don't walk and order this CD. I bought it on the forum.
