I'm working with a singer and fiddler named Cami Stinson (www.camistinson.com) and we're working toward a good western swing sound. Does anyone know of any good steel players in Oklahoma? If so, e-mail me or reply. |

Don't forget Gene Jones in Oklahoma City. Excellent on pedals and western swing; played with Twitty while Conway was still Harold; has many years of professional experience. The only problem is that he is retired and I don't know how interested he would be in an active "pickin" life.

Doesn't Chuck Hayes live in Oklahoma? I got to hear him out here in Calif. a while back. He is awsome on the C6th side of that Pedalmaster. |

JD Walters is a very fine swing player. He is a fine player period. I think he is still around the Tulsa area.

Mark Greenway who now lives in Whitesboro, TX. That Okie married a TX school teacher and crossed over. He works in OK and would probably be interested in doing some gigs there. |

Chuck Hayes lives in Muskogee,Oklahoma, and is Vice President of the Western Swing Music Society of the Southwest (WSMSS).
Roy, thank you for the mention and the kind remarks and you are correct.....I retired from playing in 2002 and I am thoroughly enjoying not having to learn new playlists and arrangements and having to haul all that equipment around! These young steelers are doing that much better than me anyway, and are certainly enjoying it more!
