Hello to all! I am so glad to find out about the Forum. I look forward to participating in the conversations and exchange of information. I have been away from the steelin' scene for 10 years. Way too long. I live in Nashville, TN and I own a Christian record company and studio. You can check all of that out at journeyrecords.com I have enjoyed many years of producing records and being involved in the music industry. However, I missed the steel guitar industry. I hope to contribute to the evolvement of the instrument in the future. I am working on plans right now of a redesigned BMI guitar. I, also have many plans to help further the education of the instrument with tuning alternatives, theory application, and marketing of those elements to the potential student. It's good to be back at the instrument that got me started in the music business.

Zane,
Welcome to the Forum. I remember the first time i saw and heard you play steel. It was at an amusement park in Hot Springs way back in the late 70's or early 80's. When my family and i walked through the front gates i could hear that steel somewhere. I told wife and kids " see yall later", and took off ; they new where i's goin. I found the stage and saw some small slender kid with a 10 gallon western hat on ,sittin up high on some kinda platform, flailing the heck outa a 12 String BMI. You musta been born playin one of those things.
Sorry about the long post but welcome to the show.-----Skip Cole---

Zane, it is so good to see ya here!
I am certainly enjoying the gospel music you are producing, especially the Terry Terrell projects. And those songs you have written....well, I wish everyone here had a chance to hear them!

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing with us!

Hey Zane, glad to hear you back on the scene and about the new BMI guitar. I also play a S-12 BMI with 8 & 5 that I've just had rebuilt by Don Fritsche. They're wonderful guitars and I wish more people would try them out.........JH in Va.

Zane, welcome to the forum. It been a long time. You have been missed and I still don't have a guitar with the ZB tuning yet. I know you have been doing some great work. Your work with the Crabb family comes to mind. The steel players were great but I though why didn't Zane play. It would have been alsome.

I am also one who is happy to see Zane getting back in the playing zone..to any one who has'nt heard Zane, you are in for a fast ride..He can play it tastefully, can play it pretty, and in you are wanting something really rapid, he can take you down the fast lane in a hurry.. don't think he uses a straight up E9th..a little different tuning on the high strings I believe....Go Zane.........

Zane,
I won't ask you where you've been; I am sure with the Lord somewhere, but glad to know that you are around. Hope things are going good for you , maybe we might see you at the Dallas show this year.
For those you have not heard Zane King, I remember him in St. Louis on stage with Steve Poulusek. Zane got to playing so fast, his guitar caught on fire. Am I tellin' right Zane???. Glad your on the forum.

Hi Zane: Welcome back to the world of the steel guitar. We have been friends since you were just a young boy, making your first appearance at Scotty's, and wowing everyone.

By the way, I'd like to put in a word of thanks for all that you have done for my nephew, Joe Stevens. He sure thinks the world of you.
